The Donovan's Daily Doing's...: Is it Friday yet???

Seriously, days of the week and weekends don't mean a whole lot to us. Ever since I have known Rob, he has always worked shift work. His Friday is always his last day off...even if its a Tuesday...his Monday is always his first day on...even if its a Saturday. And we address it like that. I know it can be confusing, but its funny, almost all Mounties refer to DOTW like we do....kinda like a different language. I will tell you, its not great for teaching your children days of the week.....
Daddy" woohoo, its Daddy's friday!"
Braila" Mumma I thought you said it was Thursday today??"
Me" It is sweetie, its just Daddy's Friday"
Braila(looking at me like I have 7 heads) "What the heck are you talking about!?"
Me (now realizing I can explain this maybe in a more simple way)" its Daddy's last day of work today...his Friday..."
Braila"so its not Thursday??" (she now has a knit in her brow and looking really puzzled)
Me" Yes it is....(ok, feeling like this will not work)...guess what, Daddy has tomorrow off!"
Braila "yahooo!"

**note to self, leave the teaching days of the week up to the teachers....
